On Dec 19th 2013, Jiangsu Province Department of Education held a meeting on Construction project of Jiangsu Provincial Key Laboratory of Infection and Immunity in Nanjing Medical University. Project leader is Prof. Sidong Xiong in IBMS. Attendees are Zhufan Zhang (vice president of Nanjing Medical University), Zhaocheng Zhang (Director) and Tongyu Ding (Deputy Director) from Jiangsu Provincial Department of Education. Evaluation committee is comprised of peers from Nanjing University, Southeast University, Nantong University, China Pharmaceutical University, Nanjing University of Chinese Medicine. The meeting was chaired by Director Zhaocheng Zhang.
Laboratory director Prof. Sidong Xiong gave a detailed presentation on laboratory basic information, hardware construction, talent team, research progress during laboratory construction, laboratory organization and mode of management, open collaboration, funding of laboratory construction and supporting conditions. Experts conducted a careful review of the laboratory and speak highly of the construction work.
There made a great progress on construction of top talents, large equipment purchases and use, grant use, open communication and standardization of laboratory management, which has successfully passed the evaluation. Meanwhile, expert committee has suggested that the laboratory should strengthen the introduction of high-level, top talent, closely contact with the clinical diagnosis and treatment to further strengthen its leading role in the direct guidance and clinical diagnosis and treatments, eventually could enter the list of national key laboratories.
