Principal Investigator Jinping Zhang Ph.D. Professor of IBMS Professor JinPing Zhang received his Ph.D. degree in immunology at Shanghai Medical College, Fudan University in 2004. During his graduate studies, he performed quality research and published his results in many high-impact journals such as Clinical Cancer Research and Journal of Immunology. He carried out his post-doctoral research in Columbia University, Baylor College of Medicine and University of Missouri-Columbia from year 2005 to 2008. Professor Zhang held a position as associate research scientist in Columbia University for two years before joining SooChow University to lead his current team. His research areas cover the aspects of Lymphocytes development, autoimmune disease and tumor immunotherapy. Professor Zhang’s work has been published in renounced international journals including Journal of Clinical Investigation, Journal of Experimental Medicine, PNAS, MCB and EMBO reports. His achievements have also been highlighted in Nature Reviews Immunology and Nature Reviews Drug Discovery. Professor Zhang is currently principle investigator at the Institutes of Biology and Medical Sciences, Soochow University. Research Interest The development and differentiation of lymphocytes are the fundamental field inimmunology, it is not only for elucidating the origin, program and molecular mechanisms of lymphocytes themselves. But also giving some suggestions for exploring the mechanisms of onset of some diseases which are associated with the development, activation and tolerance of lymphocytes. Recently, great progresses were achieved in the development and differentiation of lymphocytes. For example, cDC and pDC both are derived from common dendritic cell progenitor (CDP) instead of CD8+ cDC come from lymphoid progenitor and CD8- cDC come frommyeloid progenitor. MPP is not directly develop into CLP, but first develop into LMPP then into CLP , and CLP contain ALP and BLP, ALP develop into ETP,ProT , PreT and mature T cells, ALP and BLP can develop into PreProB, ProB and PreB cells. On other side, mature T cells can be differentiated into Treg, Th1,Th2, Th17, Th9, Th1reg and Th17reg cells under special circumstances. B cells population also contains subset of suppressive function, we called Breg characterized by producing high level of IL-10. for explaining the molecular mechanisms of the development and differentiation, the function of non-coding RNA (microRNA and LncRNA), ubiquitin ligase and deacytelase are the hot research direction in these days. Our research interesting are focused on clarifying the mechanism of non-coding RNA in T, B, and DC lymphocyte development and activation. Selected publications:
Team members Fulu Dong Ph.D., Lecturer Fulu Dong received his PhD degree in animal breeding and genetics from Nanjing agriculture University in 2012. In the same year, he became a staff member in Dr. Jingping Zhang’s lab at the Institutes of Biology and Medical Sciences. His research interests revolve around function and mechanism of lncRNA in lymphocyte development. Selected publications:
Fei Xia M.Sc., Technician Fei Xia obtained her B.Sc. degree from Coordinate Medical University in 2011, now she is interested in investigating the role of LincRNA in the development of T cells. By her hard working, she found that the LincRNA mainly function on the activation of T cell. E-mail:j_pzhang@suda.edu.cn Office:Dushu Lake 703-B315 Office Tel:(86)512 658 82302 |
